Live Scan Fingerprinting

Live Scan is an inkless, electronic means of capturing fingerprints in a digitized format and then transmitting them to a referred agency, without the need for the more traditional method of ink and paper. Electronic Fingerprint Submissions are required by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for conducting criminal history record checks on a variety of professions, occupations positions and licenses. It must precede the release of national criminal history record information to the non-criminal justice licensing, employing or regulatory agency authorized to receive such information.

Live Scan digital submissions provide the quickest and most efficient way to submit and process a background check to determine if an applicant has engaged in any criminal activity, or has prior felony convictions, that would make them unsuitable for a position that are applying for.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement

PrintScan is a now a Registered Live Scan Submitter (RLS) service provider that is authorized to submit Electronic Fingerprint Submissions (EFS) to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

FDLE is the central repository of criminal history information within the state of Florida and the point of contact for the FBI, receives and processes electronic fingerprint submissions through FDLE's Civil Workflow Control System (CWCS)

PrintScan Miami mobile is capable of performing Live Scan fingerprinting or traditional ink card fingerprinting (FBI card form FD-258)

The FDLE requires that the applicant bring two forms of identification when they are being fingerprinted.

One of the two types of identification must bear your picture and a signature such as a driver's license state identification card or passport.

Applicants cannot be permitted to be fingerprinted without proper identification.

Please ensure that you have your Originating Agency Identification (ORI) prior to scheduling an appointment.

If you do not provide an ORI or if you provide an incorrect ORI number the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) will NOT receive your fingerprint results. Also, as per FBI regulation, your prints cannot be shared between professions or with other agencies. you are required to have separate prints for each license you are applying for using the correct ORI.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Background Check

PrintScan makes it fast, convenient and hassle free to get your FBI Background check. We can expedite your FBI request through an Approved FBI Channeler so that you have your results in as little as 48 hours. Results can be sent to your email, or mailed using standard USPS mail, USPS priority mail or even overnight delivery via FedEx or UPS.

We can only process expedited FBI Background checks for United States Citizens Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders). Individuals who are not citizens or residents must submit ink fingerprints directly to the FBI for processing.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)

PrintScan is proudly one of only 13 companies that is authorized to transmit fingerprints electronically to FINRA. Electronic Fingerprint Submissions (EFS) will allow for cleaner faster processing as well as lower costs to your firm. When using EFS, fingerprint results will be available on your firm's web CRD within 72 hours. PrintScan is currently trusted by over 200 firms nationwide to process fingerprints via EFS.
